Karachi, December 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): 8th Pakistan-Japan Private Sector Business Dialogue and 6th Joint Government Business Dialogue is to be held in Tokyo on 10th December. The delegation for the Dialogue is being led by the Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Textile, Abdul Razak Dawood.
The 25 businessmen from various sectors attending, including the Japanese businessmen in Pakistan, will be led by Sohail P. Ahmed, Chairman, Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF). Discussion at the Dialogue being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economic Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan include various issues related to trade and investments.
Delegates will elaborate upon Information Technology, Textile, Automotive, Infrastructure, Surgical and Sporting goods and the Fishery sectors which hold potential for the mutual benefit of the business communities in Japan and in Pakistan. Trade figures are tilted in favour of Japan and Pakistan will seek avenues to seek greater access to the Japanese market by Pakistani exporters. The government is supportive of PJBF’s efforts toward further increase of activity between the two friendly countries and will jointly discuss possibilities of diversifying exports from Pakistan. Textile being a major item, Pakistan will seek preferential agreement and discuss ways to achieve it.
PJBF has been instrumental in taking SME delegations to Japan every year and has found tremendous interest by the Japanese businessmen towards the products being offered as also learning about the significant and meaningful improvement in the manufacturing practices by the industrial concerns. Businessmen joining such delegations have succeeded in joint ventures, distributorships and even investments by their Japanese counterparts. The Dialogue aims at further improvement in bilateral trade and economic activities between Pakistan and Japan.
