Sialkot, December 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):Her Excellency Ms. Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan and his team visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, President SCCI welcomed the honourable guest and said that Pakistan and Bulgaria have always enjoyed friendly ties built upon mutual respect and identical views on global and regional developments. The President said that Pakistan attaches extreme importance to Eastern European countries, especially Bulgaria, and looks forward to further building upon the friendly relations.
Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Malik, President SCCI said that we are thankful that Bulgaria has always assured us of offering support to Pakistan for retaining the GSP+ status and has confirmed its backing to positively review Pakistan’s GSP+ facility. Moreover, he suggested a few measures for the expansion of trade between the two countries which are (i) both countries should facilitate single-country trade exhibitions and encourage frequent exchanges of trade delegations, (ii) encourage Bulgarian Businesses to explore Joint Ventures possibilities in Pakistan, (iii) signing of Memorandum of Understanding with prominent Bulgarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in order to promote B2B.
Her Excellency Ms. Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Pakistan thanked President, Sialkot Chamber for the warm welcome and hospitality. H.E. appreciated the role of Sialkot in the Economic Development of the Country. H.E shared that Bulgaria has an important geographical location, which makes Bulgaria a vital hub for entering to European Market. H.E. shared that Bulgaria will definitely support Pakistan in getting the GSP+ status back.
The envoy said that both countries should focus on the trade balance and efforts would be made in order to enhance the current figures which are not as per the potential present between them. Moreover, she requested this Chamber to send us the proposal for the single-country exhibition, so that the same could be forwarded to the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for facilitation.
