Islamabad, May 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Bestway Cement reputes itself as a responsible corporate citizen and gives highest priority to protecting and creating a healthier environment for not only its own employees, but also for it’s communities situated around its four plants. The conference was organised by Punjab Environmental Protection Department (EPD) in collaboration with World Bank at a local hotel in Lahore.

Amongst hundreds of visitors of Bestway’s booth were officials from Government/ Non-government sectors, Environment Protection Department and various private industries including:

Member National Assembly Punjab, Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan;

Secretary EPD, Mr. Syed Mubashar Hussain;

Senior Environmental Specialist World Bank, Mr. Cristopher J. Warner;

Project Director World Bank, Dr. Waqar.

The attendees were briefed on Bestway Cement’s several environmental protection initiatives such as Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) System, Solar Photovoltaic Plants, Waste Heat Recovery Power Plants (WHRPP), Rainwater Harvesting Ponds, Bag House Filters, Plantation Campaigns, Zero reliance on ground water for industrial use, compliant with IFC standards, Zero Effluent along with Environmental and Social Initiatives. Bestway was acknowledged as the pioneer in taking environment friendly measures in the Pakistani cement industry.
