Lahore, September 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):The M2 motorway has been closed at Thokar Niaz Baig for construction work, according to a new warning from the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP). (Reported by news source)
According to NHMP, traffic has been rerouted northward at the M-2 highway close to Thokar Niaz Baig Loop and NHA Office.
The road is now being repaired by the National Highway Authority (NHA), which was severely damaged by the monsoon floods. According to an official Tweet, the NHMP has set up a detour close to Thokar Niaz Baig. The police are now directing traffic to a different route from there.
According to Senator Kamil Ali Agha, the agency should use the toll tax money to prioritize repairing the roads. He continued by saying that the M2 has gotten so bad that travelling on it is risky.
Saifullah Abro, a senator, also bemoaned the rise in the toll charge on highways from Rs. 160 to more than Rs. 1,000. He stated that using motorways has become challenging as a result of the spike.
