Karachi, May 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Continuing its strict action against electricity thieves and defaulters across the city, KE teams cracked down against an 5 illegal water hydrant located in Nazimabad and removed up to 120kilograms of 50mm cables along with 5 electrical panels and 5 circuit breakers being used for electricity theft.
Aurangabad (Nazimabad) is an area where losses have exceeded 80 percent; only 20 people out of every 100 pay their bills on time, due to which consumers are facing load shedding for 10 hours. According to K-Electric spokesperson, anti-kunda campaigns are conducted on a daily basis and thousands of illegal connections are removed, but unfortunately, the kundas are reinstalled within a few hours of their removal.
K-Electric will continue to act aggressively against kundas and electricity theft. The company also sets up facilitation camps in different areas of the city to encourage a culture of timely and regular payment of, which can result in a reduction of the load shedding duration in the area.
