Karachi, September 05, 2016 (PPI-OT):Chairman of Martin Dow, a leading pharmaceutical firm, Jawed Akhai met the French President Francois Hollande during his latest visit of France. According to a press statement issued by the Pharma firm here on Monday, the meeting was held in a very cordial environment with presence of the constructive spirit to explore partnership between Pharmaceutical sectors of the two countries on large scale basis. The meeting took place in the French Province of Correze as both were present there. Mayor of Tulle Bermard Combe was instrumental in arranging the meeting.
The French president was assisted in the meeting by Governor of Province of Correze Bertrand Gaume, Mayor of Tulle, and Deputy Governor of Correze Adeline Savy. From Martin Dow’s side, beside the firm’s chairman, the officials present were Advisor Martin Dow, David Syed; Director of the proposed site in France Alain Schwenck; and Quality Director Emmanuelle Teilhet. The meeting with the French president and other local representatives was excellent, said the press statement.
The statement said that both the sides discussed Martin Dow’s future plans for the site of former Bristol-Myers Squibb’s pharmaceutical plant, which is located in the town of Meymac, Province of Correze. In addition, they also discussed the technical development of the site (e.g., pharmaceutical production and new investments planned to diversify production) as well as expected economic benefits in the region that will derive from the development of the site, specifically in terms of job creation.
French President Hollande on the occasion expressed his great interest in the revitalization and development of this pharmaceutical site, which had become a possibility, thanks to efforts of Martin Dow in this regard. Mr. Hollande showed his willingness to support the development of Martin Dow in Correze and also to attend the inauguration of the Meymac plant together with senior Pakistani government officials.
